We believe every life deserves to be celebrated in a setting that feels as unique as the person being remembered. Salvage One offers beautifully appointed event spaces that provide a warm, comfortable atmosphere for memorial services, celebrations of life, and remembrance receptions.
Our flexible venue can accommodate both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations, allowing family and friends to share stories, display treasured photographs, enjoy refreshments, and spend meaningful time together. From your first conversation through the day of your event, our experienced team is committed to providing attentive service and helping you create a thoughtful tribute that reflects your loved one's life.
Our retail store is open to the public on Thursdays through Sundays until 5 pm, so events can be held in our space on Monday through Wednesday during the day and all evenings.
Origin story
Founded in 1979, Salvage One was Chicago's first architectural salvage retailer, rescuing and preserving pieces from buildings slated for demolition or renovation. In 2003, we began hosting events, transforming our collection of vintage furniture and furnishings into distinctive, one-of-a-kind event spaces.

I, too, have lost loved ones and understand the importance of a fitting goodbye. Tradition, faith, and laughter shared through treasured memories are all an essential part of celebrating a life and honoring the connections that remain. The first floor of our store has two bars that can be used and is filled with various vignettes of comfortable seating - tables with chairs and lounge furniture groupings. There is also an area staged in theater-style with seating for up to 175. This space is appropriate for a Memorial Service and/or a mingling cocktail-style reception.

Available throughout the year - maintained May through October. In the warmer months, our enclosed garden courtyard features a bathtub fountain and a lighted CHICAGO sign. Bursting with flowers throughout the Summer within ivy covered walls, this space is ideal for a mingling cocktail reception.

Our second floor features a large bar and two stages. This 10,000 sq. ft. main space is custom staged for each event to create a unique ambience. We provide vintage tables and chairs to accommodate up to 175 guests and lounge furniture groupings for up to 30. Our custom staging of this space includes hanging vintage/antique chandeliers specifically for each event.

Do you have parking?
We don't have a parking lot but street parking is free in our area and is usually plentiful in the evenings.
Do you provide catering?
No. We work with a list of approved caterers who can provide food and beverage service.
Do you have the capability to show a slide show or presentation?
We do not have a projector or screen so that will have to be brought in.
